The IASTI® Pilot Pathway is a new education and training route for those who aspire a career as a pilot. The pathway has been created with industry for the industry! The IASTI® Pilot Pathway prepares learners for their future as an Pilot, combining an accredited qualification with a deeper industry knowledge base, practical experience, industry specific non-technical skills including confidence building and leadership management, as well as industry led theoretical knowledge topics required for an pilot.

 

The Pilot pathway has been co-designed collaboratively with industry partners and it is co-delivered to ensure that the industry standards, requirements, and integration are maintained. Tech-Enabled learning will be embedded to promote accelerated learning which will allow it to be an immersive and innovative experience. 

Pilot Pathway Specifics 

At the start of the course, the Pilot Pathway students will study a combined pathway with the Engineering and Ground Operations students. This ensures that all common elements are understood so that when in the working environment, the aspiring Pilot will have a foundation understanding of all three key roles involved in dispatching an aircraft.  

 

After the combined section of the pathway,

the next phase of the course will cover industry

standard fundamentals where students learn IASTI®

essential industry information.  

IASTI® Industry Standard Fundamentals:

  • The UK Aviation Industry 

  • Health and Safety in the Aviation Industry

  • Security in the Aviation Industry 

  • Aviation Geography and Terminology 

  • Airline and Airport Economics 

  • Environmental Impacts of Aviation. 

Once the industry standard modules are complete,

further operations modules are then studied for the

remainder of year 1 and into year 2.

Although basic theoretical knowledge needed for

a Pilot's career is taught throughout the pathway,

the pathway also digs deeper and study the ATPL

topics and knowledge needed to progress to the next step of your career, which is also focused on industry requirements and human factors. 

On completion of the Launch2 Pilot Pathway, you will then apply to the partner flight training school to continue to ATPL training and progress to Launch1.
