IASTI® Operations Trainer

In addition to London City, and under expansive growth plans for 2022 there will be an increasing number of national locations with opportunities for employment as Pathway Trainers of our 16 – 18 Pathways (college/school/UTC)  

 

As an IASTI trainer, you will be integrated into the college teaching staff and operating within defined college processes and procedures. 

 

Job Purpose: 

To prepare, deliver and assess on the IASTI® programmes 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. To ensure the interests of IASTI® are always maintained, communicating any concerns to your IASTI line manager.  

  2. To maintain awareness of latest industry practices, technology and news to enhance learner teaching.  

  3. To adhere to college procedures and processes, attend staff/department meetings as required within the role.  

  4. To co-ordinate the course management and delivery.  

  5. To prepare, deliver and carry out teaching and learning with necessary assessment of learners including on site assessment where appropriate.  

  6. To carry out the role of a course tutor as required.  

  7. To carry out and maintain records and documentation required by the College curriculum quality policies and systems.  

  8. To support any external regulator inspections through the submission of learner records/documentation as required.  

  9. To contribute to the selection, recruitment, and enrolment of learners, including attendance at scheduled events.  

  10. To liaise with schools and parents as appropriate.  

  11. To carry out assessing and internal verification as required.  

  12. To actively implement the College’s Equal Opportunities policy throughout.  

  13. To maintain professional standards and expertise by undertaking relevant professional development.  

  14. To maintain teaching and learning quality standards through peer review and lesson observation activity.  

  15. To conform with the Health and Safety requirements relevant to the post.  

  16. To contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of new material, and enhance existing material   

  17. To work as a member of a flexible delivery team within IASTI®.  

  18. To liaise with awarding organizations and external examiners/verifiers.  

  19. To coordinate timetabling of individual student programs.  

  20. To assess and support individual student performance aimed to achieve a course pass.  

  21. To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children wherever applicable within the role.  

  22. To be an inspiring trainer, enthusiastic with the ability to motivate learners and a willingness and ability to tackle poor learner performance and the ability to respond to individual learning needs 

  23. Ability to prioritize, handle interruptions, and manage competing priorities to successfully meet weekly goals.

Knowledge 

  • Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent or the ability and willingness to obtain a Level 4 professional teaching qualification within two years of commencing employment 

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Airport/Airline Management or equivalent work experience in Airport/Ground Operations 
     

Experience 

  • Approved Certification in Flight Dispatch by an Airline or Licensed Organization (minimum 1 year experience) (Desirable)  

  • Recent experience or knowledge within the Aviation Ground Operations sector, with the ability to deliver a range of aviation subjects in line with EASA, CAA and ICAO regulations 

  •  to level 3 college students, including - Aerodrome Operations, Ramp Handling, Winter Operations, Passenger Handling, Weight & Balance, Flight Planning, Aircraft Performance, QHSE, Aircraft Dispatch, Airport and Airline Economics.  

Skills/Abilities - Other 

  • Appropriate levels of IT skills to undertake relevant duties, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint (MS Office) or the willingness and ability to undertake relevant training    

  • Ability to travel across sites and locations
